Winter-Themed Additions
The Snow IS BACK!
Winter is here! While the snow has always been part of our seasonal weather schedule, it’s here to stay for the colder months! Survival just got a little chillier. Don’t worry, the regular weather schedule is still in effect.
Santa Claws Returns!
Santa’s back with a sack full of juicy presents! Head over to his location and get your hands on his secret loot. (Santa might have some key cards for you if you were good this year 😉)
More Presents, More Loot!
We’ve scattered presents and festive loot all around the world for you to find. Happy holidays, survivors!
Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
Optimized Lighting on Main Level
We’ve reduced shader complexity on MainLevel, meaning you should see a boost in frame rates and smoother gameplay overall (especially in the sewer!).
Main Menu Winter Redesign
The Main Menu has gotten a festive makeover and a fresh look!
Good Trader Vehicle Fix
Vehicles in the Good Trader POI were having trouble navigating in and out of the entrance/swamp area, but it’s been fixed. Thank you for the reports!
Removed Floating World Items
We’ve cleaned up some issues with floating world items that were disrupting the world’s realism.
Map and Gameplay Fixes
Sewer Cue Location Fix
The sewer cue box was slightly sticking outside of the POI, causing players on the beach or outside the sewer to hear sound effects intended only for inside the sewer.
Fixed Spawn Inside Rock Mesh
Players reported spawning inside a rock mesh on the beach – this issue has been resolved.
Fixed Main Menu Cue Loop
The Main Menu cue loop stopped looping but should be working now (allegedly fixed).
Added Teleport Locations
New teleportation locations have been added to improve navigation and make your travels a bit easier when using the admin menu. Admin Menu Guide
Nav Mesh and Level Updates
Nav Mesh Regeneration for All Levels
All levels, including demo and tutorial, were using old optimizations. We’ve regenerated the nav meshes for a smoother experience and more responsive gameplay from all AI.
Randomized Door State Fixed on Tutorial
The randomized door state on the tutorial and other important POIs has been corrected to prevent any unwanted surprises. (Thanks for reporting freebie/locked door issues!)
Looking Ahead

Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes, ready for 2025. We can’t wait for another amazing year with you all as we continue to enhance and expand ZSGO. Thank you for putting your trust in our small team & dreams.

– Team ZSGO
Ever since I built my first PC to play custom zombie maps on 'Call of Duty: World at War,' I knew PC gaming would be a huge part of my life. My passion for zombies didn't just stop there—I grew up playing iconic games on my PlayStation 2 and 3, like 'Resident Evil 5,' 'Dead Rising,' 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fallout,' 'Bioshock,' and the 'Sly' series. However, once I switched to PC, there was no looking back; my PlayStations found their way into storage, and my heart stayed with PC gaming.
My love for survival games deepened with 'Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead’s DayZ' mod, where fate had me meet Dev Ear and Dev SuperPoggers atop the triple yellow in Cherno. A simple meetup on TeamSpeak turned into a lifelong friendship. We've traveled across states—from California to Florida—bonding over countless survival games like 'Rust Legacy' and 'WarZ.' Our adventures led us to run our own Rust servers and Minecraft communities, even tinkering with game development tools like Unity and Unreal Engine.
Our shared dreams and dedication have culminated in the creation of ZSGO, our ultimate zombie survival game. Bringing our collective expertise and creativity to the table, we're committed to crafting an unforgettable gaming experience that stands out in the survival genre.
